Fizz the Fuzz is ready to be your adventure buddy!
Periwinkle (affectionately nicknamed Fizz) is estimated to be about a year old and has the perfect amount of energy to motivate you to go out on an adventure and to also convince you to spend the morning cuddled in bed together. She is as sweet as can be and has quickly stolen our hearts with her ray-of-sunshine personality. She has an infectious smile and makes sure there is never a dull moment when she is around. Fizz currently weighs around 40lbs. She is fully grown but may fill out a little more.
Fizz came to us from a shelter in Central California after she was found as a stray. She waited a month there to be adopted and then found herself on the euthanasia list due to a lack of space at the overcrowded shelter. We are so grateful one of our foster families stepped up to take her in and we have been in love with her ever since.
Fizz is a happy and curious girl who loves a good outdoor exploration. She loves to be out and about and makes friends everywhere she goes. She would make a great brewery and hiking buddy. She loves to play and is the goofiest girl when she finds a toy she really likes. She also is smart and eager to learn, especially if a tasty treat is involved. Fizz seems to have had some training in her previous life but would benefit from continuing to work on her basic manners to help her be the best girl she can be.
Fizz loves other dogs and would be a great playmate for an active medium/large dog. She also could do well as an only dog if she has lots of opportunities to make dog friends. She hasn't been to a dog park, but she seems like she could do well as a dog park/doggie daycare dog. Fizz has done well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. She does think it is a fun game to chase them, so probably wouldn't be a good fit to live with shy cats. Fizz could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years or older.
Fizz has been doing great with her house and crate training. She may whine a little when she first goes in her crate but sleeps through the night well and is happy to hang out in there when her foster family is gone. Fizz has done well being home alone for short periods. Due to her enthusiastic personality, she would do best living in a home with a yard and with an active family.
Fizz is so deserving of the best home and we know it is out there. If you think that could be you, submit an adoption application today!
Fizz's adoption fee is $250.

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.
Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
