What Junior`s foster parents have to say about him --
Approximate age: About 5 years Approximate size: 45-50 lbs Good with dogs? Yes once he warms up Cats? Hasn`t been tested yet Kids? Hasn`t been tested yet, but think he`d be fine with them How are they doing with potty training? He`s decent, but we do still catch him trying to mark in the house. It is getting much better though. How are they doing in their crate? He HATES the crate and will tear himself up trying to get out of it. Energy level? Couch potato Any issues with guarding? Not that we`ve noticed Leash reactivity? He does react to other dogs on the leash at times. I think it all stems from him being attacked and he tries to get his bluff in early. He`s not a mean dog at all. Fearful? Not that we`ve noticed Aggression? Wouldn`t call it aggression, but he does seem to try and pick on the new dogs who have arrived here after him. We correct him and he`s been fine with them. Separation anxiety? Yes. He does not like to be away from you/contained. He will scratch the door if he`s shut in the room without you. We leave him uncrated downstairs when we leave and he does fine. He does have Buddy and Autumn with him, so he`s not alone. Anything else you’d like to add?
Junior is the biggest cuddle bug you`ll meet. This boy wants to be curled up in your lap (or beside you because he`s not tiny) as much as he possibly can. He is your shadow when you`re home and will be wherever you are. He is a pretty lazy boy, but has started engaging with the other dogs to play here and there. His perfect home would be with someone who`s retired or works from home. He loves to be on the couch/in bed with you, so a family who doesn`t mind dogs on the furniture is a must. I think he enjoys having the other dogs around, but a home with another dogs isn`t a must for him.

ThisIsHouston is a rescue dedicated to helping those who cannot ask for help!
The inundation of graphic dog posts and images on social media seems to have rendered a lot of people helpless. The bystander effect has grabbed a hold of our city and it isn’t loosening its grip. Most people are not aware of the stray overpopulation problem going on in this city. The others don’t help because somebody else will. Well, we are ‘somebody else’. We have no super powers. We have no magic formula or secret that gives us the ability to do what we do. We are just an example of what can be done when people come together for a common cause and leave egos at the door. Why do we do this? Because we choose to. Because we are tired of dogs suffering needlessly. And because we refuse to live in a world where there is a choice not to help.
