My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boss is a 4-year-old, beautiful Lab/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He is a beautiful boy, very strong and weighs 66Lbs, stands about 21 inches high from floor to top of back. He has the most beautiful amber brown eyes & a short golden tan coat with black and white markings. He is super intelligent, friendly and affectionate, loves to play with other dogs and loves kids.
His amazing personality makes him a joy to have around. We believe he would be a wonderful addition to the right home, with a closed yard, another dog to play with and especially kids. He is affectionate & loves to on roll on his back & side and offer his belly when he likes you. He’s also famous for his ‘High Five Paw hello’s’. He will high five your hand if you hold your hand in front of him. He doesn’t bark very often, is very well behaved on walks, not at all reactive to other dogs, people or bikes. When walked daily, he is calm and relaxed indoor and loves to snooze on his bed. He’s a fast learner and listens well!
Boss is a gentleman with soft fur, is kind and deserves a family that can give him as much affection as he gives. He is being rehomed because his mum had a fall and broke her hip and can no longer care for him, as he’s quite strong and has a good amount of energy so he would need to be exercised regularly to be the happiest he can be. He’s good with other dogs, tends to be a bit dominant so he needs a dog that will be able to handle his energy and wants to run and play with him. He likes people but loves children.
Boss is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and sterilized and will come with his medical booklet.
Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months! We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things!

Additional adoption info

We do regular follow ups and virtual home visits before the family meet the dog. :)

Go meet their pets

We are presently foster based so the meetings will take place where the dogs are being kept and that way the potential family can also discuss the good and bad habits of that dog to see if it's the right fit. The families need to be willing to work on a behaviour if it needs work and to provide the appropriate time and patience for the dog to accllimate to it's new home!

More about this rescue

We are a small shelter with lots of experience with dogs and rescuing. I worked for a larger shelter in the past but didn't always appreciate the way things were handled so I decided to branch out in a smaller scale but with all of the wonderful contacts and information that I've learned in the past decade + of doing rescue! Dogs are my passion and I would love to place as many as possible in their loving, furever homes!
