My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Stony was brought in by their previous owner.

Why Stoney might be the one for you:
Stoney is a pretty grey striped tabby with a very cute little brown nose. She is reticent to come forth but if you approach her slowly and softly, she will be appreciative. She will come to you to sniff your outstretched hand, declare it to be good and want to know if you brought a treat for her. She likes crunchy treats. She is curious as she looks around her surroundings but not brave enough to explore yet. She is just starting to come out of her shell and learn that her world is an OK place with humans who are kind and give her treats. You will be rewarded with a pretty and friendly cat if you will give her time to do things on her time and not on your time. If you are patient, Stoney will come to you, check you out and ask to be your cat companion. After that, Stoney will be all yours as the two of you bond and she becomes an esteemed family member. /p>

At SDHS:
Stoney has been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
