My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Please contact Renee (renees@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet.

Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.

Chico found himself at a shelter in rural MO after he was picked up as a stray and nobody came for him. He is a sweet and smart boy who loves all humans (he eagerly greeted children at an event and could not get enough of their attention) and gets along well with the resident dogs in his foster home. He sleeps through the night in a kennel, is house trained, has a strong sense of smell, likes to chase squirrels and rabbits out of the yard, walks well on a leash and travels well in the car. We are waiting to hear his voice but so far, he hasn't said a peep with his voice but shows his emotions in his eyes! Chico loves to explore in the yard, do his business then chill out inside on a comfy bed. We don't know the beginning of his life story but we know it's a happily ever after from here on. Chico would love to find a fun, happy forever family for Christmas; best little present you don't have to wrap!

Approximate Birthdate:  Nov 2021

Adoption Fee: $200

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL.

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.

For more information please fill out an application.

Additional adoption info

The first step to meet or adopt any of our animals is to fill out a no-commitment application online. This is normally followed up with a meeting between your family and the animal, and a home visit. Adoption fees range from $75 to $300. Please visit our website (TarasDream.org) for more information about our adoptable pet including bios, more photos, and each pet's adoption fee. If an animal is not listed on our website, they are no longer available for adoption.

More about this rescue

A non-profit 501C3, all volunteer group dedicated to helping homeless pets in the Greater Kansas City area. Our organization is the result of an alliance between several rescuers in the Kansas City region who share the same goal of ending animal suffering and homelessness.

Although we are foster home based, we also lease several kennels at a local boarding facility. Although this little "shelter" is allowing us to save many more lives, it is an added expense which is why we rely so heavily on generous donations from caring people in the community.

In addition to rescuing pets from difficult situations, we offer courtesy listings in Pet Finder, facilitate low-cost spays and neuterings, work on transfers and transports with existing rescue groups, help individuals and organizations promote, screen and educate potential adopters, fund raise to help pets with special needs, offer guidance and information about animal rescue, organize events, etc.
