My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Zion was transferred in from another animal welfare organization.

Why Zion might be the one for you:
Isn't Zion cute with his black and white markings and big eyes? Might his eyes be saying "take me home because I'm ready to be yours". He warms up slowly unless there is catnip involved and then he goes a little crazy. Otherwise, he likes to approach your extended hand and give it a few sniffs before he allows face pets. It may take a little more time and some treats (he likes Temptations) you will get a rollover for belly rubs. He will like a quiet household but he will want to be around you. Remember he likes his catnip. Give him the time and space he needs to come out to you and we predict that you will have a friendly, fun loving cat who will be a big part of your household. He will entertain and he will love. Does that sound like a good family member? If so, come to our shelter and ask to meet Zion, a very cute black and white cat.

At SDHS:
Zion has been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
