My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 9 years
Weight: 5.7 kg / 12.6 lb

Benvenuto is a handsome gentleman of middle age who has had a rather rough go. This poor dude had been having a hard time outdoors and came to us with some painful wounds. Now that he is healed and feeling better, he can show off his confident and friendly nature. While he may be a little scruffy, he has a heart of gold! If you are looking for a laid back gentleman to snuggle, then Benvenuto could be your boy! With his history of being outdoors, he may enjoy harness training, although outdoor excursions should be supervised to keep him safe. Benvenuto`s medical history means that petting used to be painful, so he can be a little picky about how and when he`s pet! For everyone`s comfort he`ll likely do best in a home where everyone can respect his body language. Come give this cute guy some love today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
