Hi there! I'm Steven (but you can call me Stevie), your future house panther with a whole lotta love to give!
Let me tell you my story. I was found as a tiny, skin-and-bones kitten in Hamtramck. My first family took me in, but they didn’t really understand what a little guy like me needed to thrive. They fed the neighborhood strays, and a young boy loved me very much, but I needed a lot more care than I was getting. When he saw I wasn’t doing so well, the boy decided to let me go to make sure I could get a second chance at a healthy, happy life.
Since that first night after rescue, I’ve been thriving! I put on some pounds (yay!), found my appetite for life, and realized just how much I love snuggling, food, and fun. Let’s talk about my special skills—did you know I’m a bit of a shape-shifter? I’m practically a pro at transforming into a parrot! I’ll perch on your shoulder, curl up around your neck like a warm scarf, or snuggle right in your lap, purring like there’s no tomorrow. I’m a stage-10 clinger, and if you love affection, I’m the purrfect fit for you.
I’m about 6 months old, neutered, and up to date on all my shots. I get along with all the other cats and kittens in my foster home. I like having friends! I’m ready to bring endless love, playful energy, and a side of sass into your life. If you’re looking for a shoulder-riding, lap-snuggling, food-loving little buddy, I’m your guy. Let’s make this forever thing official—I can’t wait to meet you!
Stevie is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
