Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Miss Zoey! One of the most jaw dropping shepherds I've seen in a while, that's one thing for certain! Without even mentioning her loyalty the SECOND she warms up to you, she quickly becomes a magnet to your hip, simply wanting to be with you, near you, wherever it may be, at any time. Fortunately, she is crate-trained, so she's perfectly content to be left on her own with a bone or toy to keep her nice and occupied! At about 3 years old, 60 pounds, she's reaching that nice deep breath stage of adulthood, where she knows all the basics, to a T. Zoey is cat-friendly, dog-friendly, and kid-friendly making her an ultimate family companion, however, she has a sense of stranger danger once she's at home, so further training will help a LOT with keeping her in line, and happier overall. While we believe she'd thrive in most loving homes, we are hoping to find a home with an understanding of shepherds, and their unique traits at the very least. Think that might be you? Awesome, we are sure she's going to LOVE you! Oh, and I forgot to mention her MOST FAVORITE thing by FAR, is her ball, she will do any trick, any behavior, anything just for it to be tossed, so she is beyond workable in a majority of aspects!

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
