My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Baily. I'm a pretty laid-back feline with a heart full of love. I've been told I'm smart, and I think it's true. I figured out how to open doors and I've mastered the art of getting treats from the staff. My favorite thing is cuddling up next to someone. I'm mellow and gentle, never one to cause a fuss. I've been called loyal, and I think that's because I stick by those I care about. I'm friendly to everyone I meet. I'm just a sweet cat looking for a forever home. Why should you adopt me? Because I promise to be your loyal companion, your cuddle buddy on cold nights, and your friend when you need one most. I'm ready to make our house a home.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
