My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET & ACTIVE FRIEND:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 15 lbs.

Hello – I’m Deeana!  I came to Mostly Mutts with another dog from animal control.  I’ve enjoyed the love and care I have received from the volunteers and even spent a day in a great short break foster home recently.  I’m now ready to find my new furever home and live the good life all doggies deserve.  Come meet me soon!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came in with another dog but didn’t really like the other dogs I met at the shelter; however, I recently visited a short break foster home and did well playing with the dog in that home that was a Border Collie/Husky mix.  So, if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / The cat in my short break foster home stressed me out, and I chased them.  Even when they were in a different room from me, I was not comfortable knowing they were around, so I should not live with cats. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  You will love my sweet and fun personality!  I’m a playful and active girl who has been friendly with all the people I’ve met.  A well-adjusted doggie, I settled in quickly in the home that I visited.  Even though I was a bit afraid of the bath sprayer for my first bath at Mostly Mutts, I did great for my bath and nail trim. / My energy level is 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  I know the ‘sit’ command thus far, and I can’t wait to learn even more. Check back soon to see my progress. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, though it’s not my favorite place. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, with just a few accidents.  I also did well in the home I briefly visited.  Hopefully that will be the case in my new home too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to play with toys when the volunteers bring those out, and they were great fun in my short break foster home, too.  I also love my walks and look forward to going on lots of them with my new family.  Car rides?  I’m all in!  Let’s make great memories together. / Other than cats, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a home where I will be a much-loved family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
