My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET & FUN FRIEND:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 16 lbs.

Hi, my name is Darcey!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control with another dog and I’m happy to be here!  I was a bit nervous initially, but I am settling in as I realize I am in a safe place with lots of folks who love me and want to see me find my furever family.  I’m ready to do that now!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came to Mostly Mutts with another dog – though I didn’t like the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts and recently, I’ve not really even cared for walking with the dog I came in with.  So, it doesn’t look great – but if you have another dog, we could meet along with a trainer and see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers took things slowly with me initially and now my wonderful nature has blossomed!  I’m described as fun, playful and super sweet and I know you will love my friendly nature.  I’m alert to my surroundings and am a barker, so best no apartment or condo-type home please.  I was a well-mannered little girl for my bath and did great for my nail trim, too. / My energy level is 5-7.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  I’ve mastered the ‘sit’ command so far.  Check back soon to see my progress. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've had a few accidents on the shelter schedule, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  Playtime is always fun, and I really like for the volunteers to bring out the toys.  I’m a good walker, so I hope there are lots of walks in our future.  I’m ready to be your fun companion! / Other than showing reactiveness to other dogs I see when out and about, I can’t think of any dislikes, though  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a loving home with a wonderful family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
