My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

READY FOR THE LOVE I DESERVE:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 29 lbs. & needs to gain  a good bit of weight

Hi, my name’s Casey!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and – boy – am I glad to be here!  I was in pretty rough shape when I arrived, with hair loss on my ears from fly bites, I had fleas, and I was emaciated, too.  But – I am on the road to recovery and being my best self, thanks to the good care I am receiving.  I’ve already gained some weight and will gain even more to get to my healthy weight.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and did well, though I reacted to an unneutered male, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be friends! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  Though initially scared, I am very sweet and friendly with the volunteers.  I’m a people dog – very social and affectionate.  The volunteers have noticed how smart and focused I am.  I was a perfect angel for my bath, thorough ear cleaning and nail trim – almost as if I knew help had finally arrived for me and my fortune had turned. / My energy level is 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘leave it’ commands and I look forward to learning even more so let’s have some great training sessions together!  I’m currently working on my leash manners as the leash seems new to me. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've been having accidents on the shelter schedule, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy being with people and just want to be loved.  Playing with toys or just hanging out – I am ready to be your loyal companion. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am fed 4 smaller meals a day to help me gain weight properly. The fur is starting to grow back in nicely on my ears – it will just take a little more time.

I am looking for a loving furever home with a great family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
