My story

My name is Mabel and I am one of the biggest cuddle kitties you will find. I am quite shy, I was rescued alone from a kitty colony and a bit older than normal. CAWS took a chance on fostering me and it turns out I am a snuggler! I would love a quiet home where I can continue to come out of my shell. I like to cuddle with my foster humans but their big house can get a little overwhelming. I would do great starting out in a small space and with someone who works from home, or a family that stays home during the day. I would not do well being left alone for long periods of time due to needing socialization. I need lots of snuggles and love. I would do best in a family with older kids who can help me practice not being scared. I do not mind calm dogs or cats and kittens of all sizes as long as they are friendly. Will you please take a chance on me and let me cuddle my way into your heart? Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
