My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Lt. Dan! You got new legs...err..a new leash! Lt. Dan is an adorable short stack with little legs, large ears, and a big fat head. Lt. Dan is one easy going dude. He has been in a family home with dogs, cats and kids. Unfortunately his family had a change of living circumstance and were not able to take Dan with them. He has been neutered and is on his way to the PNW. We cannot wait to meet him.

Foster Update:  With short little legs, big paws, a chunky head, and a baguette body, Lt. Dan is the cutest and happiest guy! His tail is always wagging and he lights up when he sees people. He walks nicely on leash, but will pull if he sees a critter like a rabbit or squirrel. He sleeps through the night in his crate and is great about going potty outside. Lt. Dan is very food motivated which is helpful for training. He enjoys toys and playtime but also loves to snuggle up. He has a good balance of energy and calm and has been a quiet work from home companion.

Adopter profile: Dan is a confident dog, and will need an experienced handler who will give him clear guidance. Dan follows the cues of the resident dogs in his foster home and would do best in a home with another dog. Due to his exuberance, Dan would not be a good fit for a home with children. No first time dog owners, please.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
