My name is Ruffo!
I am a three year old male mexi-mutt. I was discovered on March 8, 2023 in a collapsed house, very malnourished and afraid. My skin was in rough shape and I was missing my left hind leg. Some very kind humans carefully approached me, and when I realized they had food, I ran to them and they drove me to safety.
When I got to the vet, the doctor said that I had scabies. I also had a papilloma wart in my mouth, but with medication, it was completely eliminated.
The doctor also theorized my leg was possibly lost in an accident, since no scar was found from surgery. Given my health issues, euthanization was presented as an option. Luckily, my rescuers didn’t give up on me. They took me home to start my recovery.
With the support of several people and after months of treatment, vitamins, medicated baths, and more, I began to get better. Now, I have only a scar from the scabies and a bit of alopecia in some places on my body - but my human friends say this has no effect on how wonderful of a pup I am!
Now, I am 100% healthy! I love to run, play with other dogs, and go for walks, even though I only have three legs. Plus, I am great at riding in the car and walking on a leash. My humans say I’m a mellow, obedient dog who is great with kids and other pups! Plus, I’m super affectionate and love to get all the pets I can! The only thing I’d like you to remember is that I do get scared of loud noises, so I will come running to you for safety if I hear one.
I am vaccinated, sterilized and dewormed. It doesn’t get much better than me! Will you give me a chance to be the newest member of your furever family?
