Hello there,
My name is Montana, and I’m a true survivor. I was a local Mexican street dog when I developed a particularly bad case of mange. I was so uncomfortable and itchy In a misguided attempt to soothe my skin, residents poured motor oil on me, which scalded me under the intense sun. The pain was excruciating, and there was no relief in sight.
But miracles happen! One day, some real-life angels saw me and my extensive burns and rushed in to help. I was scared at first but soon learned there was nothing to fear. They rushed me to the vet to treat my burns, and I knew in that moment, that I was safe
Several months have passed, and I’m so proud of my resilient body and mind! My fur has mostly grown back, and I have a beautiful face now where there once were only scars <3 I am really happy to be called pretty now from the possible adopters coming to see me! Most importantly, I’ve transformed from a downtrodden pup to a gal full of hope and excitement for the future!
I can be timid at first, but I hope you understand given my past. With a little bit of patience, we’ll be best friends in no time! Once I know you I will come up to you with tailwags, ready to receive some chin scratches!
I am a great friend to all the dogs here at the shelter, we love to romp around all day. I don't show resource guarding behavior around toys or humans. Playing rough is great fro me too, so I can be a wrestle buddy or play gently with the pups! I eat in a crate, so I am on the best way to being crate trained and at night I share a corall with my friend, that we keep neat and clean.
It’s hard to believe how my luck has already turned, but my biggest dream has yet to be realized - finding a family of my own Let’s make each other's dreams come true!
Love, Montana
