Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Cindy Lou is a gentle, loving soul who may be a bit shy at first, but once you earn her trust, she’ll melt your heart with her sweet nature and quiet affection. This thoughtful, careful pup is always aware of her surroundings, taking her time to assess new situations before jumping in—proof of just how careful and considerate she is.
Cindy Lou absolutely loves being around people and other dogs once she feels comfortable. Her kind heart and easy-going nature make her a wonderful companion for those who understand the value of patience and trust-building. With the right people, Cindy Lou will show her true colors: a loving, loyal friend who enjoys being by your side.
Cindy Lou also has a special bond with her best friend, Margie—a much smaller dog who is just as sweet as Cindy Lou. They’ve been inseparable, and Cindy Lou’s care for Margie speaks volumes about her nurturing side. They’re the perfect pair, and we’re hoping to find a home where they can stay together. Margie’s presence helps Cindy Lou feel more confident and secure, so they truly shine as a bonded duo.
Cindy Lou’s ideal home is one where she can enjoy calm, consistent routines, with plenty of love and positive experiences. A quiet, patient household with other dogs (like Margie!) would be perfect for her, though we’re sure she’d do great in a home where she’s the sole pup, too—so long as she feels loved and safe. If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive dog who just needs a little time to open up, Cindy Lou might be the perfect fit for you!

More about this rescue
The Milo Foundation is an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill organization providing an alternative for homeless pets throughout California, through education, adoption services, and providing sanctuary for animals until permanent homes can be found.
Founded in August of 1994, The Milo Foundation Sanctuary is located on two hundred and eighty-three acres in Mendocino County - offering lots of room for the animals to run and play. The Milo Sanctuary animals typically (but not exclusively) are harder to adopt animals and those needing more rural type homes, such as dogs with social or behavioural challenges, feral cats, horses and other farm animals. The Milo Point Richmond Adoption Center is where the majority of our new rescue intake takes place, typically friendly, adoptable cats and dogs, puppies and kittens rescued from shelters where they were facing euthanasia. The Sanctuary is where highly active or reactive dogs can go and have plenty of space, other canine companions (if they are dog friendly) and live in a stress free environment until such time as the right adoption match can be found.
The Milo Sanctuary is what enables Milo to be a No-Kill organization. Milo brings dogs back and forth from the Adoption Center (MPR) to the Sanctuary to give dogs a break from the stresses of the kennel environment and back to MPR later to try again at being adopted. Potential adopters also do come up to the Sanctuary to adopt, by appointment.
