My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Martin was rescued from a California shelter, set to be euthanized for space. He was saved by a lovely transporter with the help of us, escaping death's door. He survived, but not just once, twice. As the transporter was driving home with 9 dogs the night before Thanksgiving, she was hit head on from an SUV that was ejected into oncoming traffic by another driver, and collided with her. The transporter survived with 5 broken ribs, a broken sternum, wrist, and kneecap, abdominal contusion, bruising all over and a brain bleed. Thankfully she is alive and healing. Sadly, not all of the dogs survived. Three puppies were killed from the impact. Martin lived, an incredible miracle boy. Not only that, but he came to the transporters head, waiting with her until she was rescued (all dogs were out of the kennels from the impact). He is amazing, even after such a traumatic event.

Neutered.

He is a sweetheart who warms up to you immediately. He loves to play with you and just spend time by your side, ready for adventure. He is a dominant dog, so best with more submissive dogs. He is a dog that needs a person or family that loves to adventure and play, ready for a dog companion to join them! His favorite thing is to give you hugs and sometimes kisses, he is truly grateful for his chance at life.

If you have a current dog already, we will conduct introductions before adoption to make sure they are compatible. We recommend all of our dogs be trained, by the adopter and/or professionally, especially as puppies. Training makes everyone's life easier and more enjoyable, giving you a companion that is well behaved, safe, and mentally enriched. All adopters will receive a 50% discount at The Good Dog Yorktown for any of their training sessions.

Our favorite trainer for online advice is Tom Davis, his youtube is here: https://www.youtube.com/@tomdavisofficial
