My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Courtesy Post **

Laika is around 50lbs

She's about 3-4 years old
Great with all dogs and hasn't been cat tested but she doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body so she might be ok with them. I can arrange a cat test if needed.
She knows sit and down
Does great on a leash
Utd on shots Fixed hw-
Ok with the vacuum and having her nails trimmed and ears cleaned
She's super sweet and loves to cuddle
She never stops smiling or wiggling her butt
She's so easy going that she's the first dog i use to test the temperament of new fosters

She was hit by a car and a vet took her in but didn't give her any care. She stayed on a cement floor for weeks with minimal contact with anyone. Her knee caps are out of place. She was seen by a surgeon and we were told he could do a surgery but there was only a 50% chance that it was going to work so we opted out.

She hops around on 3 legs for the most part but there was no need to take her other leg just in case something happened to the one she primarily uses. It doesn't slow her down in the least. She literally my fastest dog in the pack and has no issues with stairs. I have a slippery floors so I have area rugs down for her.

More about this rescue

Needy Paws Rescue, located in St. Louis, MO, is devoted to saving animals in need, whose lives are in danger at high kill animal shelters & animal controls, those who are strays, have been abandoned or whose family has faced an extreme emergency, regardless of their size or breed.

Our organization is made up of Volunteers who have been involved in various animal rescues in the St. Louis area and we plan to use our knowledge & experience to make a difference. We believe spaying & neutering is a very important step in keeping pets healthy & happy, plus it helps decrease overpopulation. All of our rescued animals will be spayed or neutered, they will be microchipped to ensure they are identifiable if lost or stolen and they will be current on all of their vaccinations before going to their Forever Homes.

We are foster-based and all pets stay in approved Foster Homes that have passed inspections, reference checks and are qualified to take care of our rescued animals while they wait for their Forever Family. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will be making home visits and conducting veterinarian checks & reference checks to ensure the pets will have a safe, loving, happy home. Forever Families will be taught how to care for their pet and learn how to get the most out of their relationship with their new family member. We also have an after-care specialist who will be in contact with the families after the adoption to see how well they're doing together
