Harrow October 29 is not time for Halloween trick-or-treating, but I sure had a trick played on me! I was found by a kind woman after being hit by a car. She brought me to the HSHC, where it was discovered that my rear left leg was broken in three places, and my pelvis was also broken. Even though I was in a lot of pain, I was alert and friendly. I had to have my leg amputated and be placed on reduced activity for my pelvis to recover. It is good that I am only 2-years-old, so my recovery will be much faster than if I were 12! Come to think of it, my name is probably a result of the harrow-ing trauma I endured. I got to live with a foster mom while I healed, and she had only good things to say about me. -- Harrow is an adorable boy who loves attention. He uses his litterbox like a champ and has a spectacular appetite! Because he has only three legs, his food intake must be monitored to avoid weight gain. A chubby Harrow will not be a healthy Harrow. His pelvis is still healing and may be tender to touch. While in my foster home, Harrow concentrated on getting better and wasn`t interested in socializing with the other cats there. He became a skilled couch potato! -- The interviewer lady found me to be a charmer with lovely white whiskers, eyebrows, and ear tufts against my coal-black coat. I didn`t get out of bed, but I certainly enjoyed all the pets she gave me. If you adopt me, I promise it will be a treat, not a trick! 12-16-24

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.
This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
