Rupert and his floppy ears- he is simply irresistible. Rupert is as loving as he is adorable. He’s a gentle, patient and mellow go-with-the-flow kind of guy, great with other dogs and cat-tolerant. Rupert is currently fostered in a busy home with kids, and he’s absolutely thriving. This sweet boy could slip right into your family, he’s a comfortable fit for any family looking to be loved.
Rupert is estimated to be around 1 and a half years old, and he currently weighs in at a warm and snuggly 61 pounds. We think Rupert is a Pittie mix of some sort, but he is a rescue, so these are just our best guesses.
Fall in love with Rupert here: https://youtu.be/eTksaDXzQKE?si=_U52L4323EYdTESF
Rupert has such an easy-to-love softness about him. He can be a tiny bit shy when you first meet him, hiding behind his person’s legs, giving a little space. Sweetly asking Rupert to let you pet him does the trick, once you’ve shown him that you’re a friend, that tail starts to wag and he’ll approach for affection. It’s all very “first day of kindergarten.” He’s very gentle with everyone he meets, no jumping or pushing, no mouthiness, just love.
Rupert has excellent canine social skills. Here at the rescue, he’s shown amazing tolerance with the pushiest of pups. He shares affection and treats well, with no jealousy. Rupert is currently fostered in a home with a senior medium terrier mix that he loves to play with. The two play gently and sweetly, which you can see for yourself in his video!
Rupert also has kitties in his foster home, here at the rescue, our behavior team “cat tested” Rupert to double check is cat tolerance. Rupert showed off his best behavior and earned our house cat Tom’s stamp of approval. He is cat-tolerant and could live with dog-savvy kitties.
Our favorite thing about Rupert is his soft, gentle and sweet nature. Many dogs have sweetness to them, but it’s often hidden under layers of pushy paws and hard nose boops. With Rupert, that isn’t the case. He’s just a gentle, loving guy that will cherish your snuggle sessions on the couch, and give the sweetest tiniest kisses whenever he sees the opportunity. Rupert is also good on leash, and with his temperament, he would be an excellent adventure dog. Take him out and about and watch him melt hearts.
Rupert’s perfect home will have at least one loving human to snuggle. He could live with dogs, dog-savvy cats, and/or kids! A perfect fit for just about any animal loving family. He is currently fostered in a home with kids as young as 15. We can test with younger kids if need be! With any questions, please reach out to his adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Rupert with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
