My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cindy Lou Who was found out running around with a buddy. It appeared that they were pretty close and had spent a significant amount of time together. Her friend/sister was selected by an out-of-state rescue to be flown to Oregon to find her forever home. While Cindy Lou Who is very happy for her friend and has heard great things about the Pacific Northwest, she is a little heartbroken to be left behind. All Cindy Lou Who wants for Christmas is a home and family of her own. She gets a little excited in the kennel, but typically settles down pretty quickly once she's out.

More about this shelter

Norman Animal Welfare is a municipal shelter operated and funded by the City of Norman, Oklahoma. In addition to providing a safe environment for our adoptable animals we also are responsible for the enforcement of all animal related laws within the City of Norman and holding all stray animals that are located. In addition to these main roles, we also provide public microchipping, city pet licensing, and other educational services to our community.
We average approximately 3,400 animals in and out of our facility each year. We have an amazing facility that fully opened in 2016. We operate daily with a very limited staff supported by several amazing volunteers. We operate an active foster program and are always seeking to work with those in our community interested in assisting us in our mission.
