My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dermot is living in a foster home. Please submit an application from our website and/or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match!

Sometimes, love is simple. We were smitten the moment we laid eyes on Dermot at Chicago Animal Care and Control, curled up in his kennel like a precious little burrito.

Like most 1 year old dogs, Dermot is either going 50 miles per hours or snoring. We love both sides of him! He is playful and energetic, always eager to go on a walk or run around the yard and chase toys.
Dermot loves playing with other dogs - playgroup was his favorite time of day! He does silly little bunny hops around them and we think it's so cute!
Although he loves socializing with the other dogs, we think he will do best living as an only dog, because he isn't too keen on sharing toys and treats with other pups.

Dermot has been doing well in a foster home, and his foster calls him "a delight!" He always welcomes a belly rub or cuddle. He is a sweet dog with a huge heart, and is so soft and snuggly. Dermot has never had an accident in his foster home. Dermot is not reactive on the leash but he does pull a bit in his desire to greet everyone!

We love him and hope you consider adopting this sweet boy!

Dermot's adoption fee is $250. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
