Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
My name is Artemis and I was born on September 1, 2024. I am a sweet, gorgeous kitten who makes my foster parents laugh every day with my antics. My favorite toys are puffballs, roller tracks, and kitty kickers. I have the coolest 2-toned whiskers with one caramel-colored front toe which my foster Mom says is my sweetness peeking out. I always look like I'm surprised and sit up like a meerkat to investigate a strange sound. I’m pretty quiet but one look at me will get my purr motor going. I will follow you around looking for pets and will nestle in for a snuggle at the end of the day. I get along great with cats and cat-savvy dogs. I’d love to go to a home with my sister, Sweet Dee but should do fine as long as I have a playmate. If you’re looking for a tortie with none of the tortitude, I’m your gal. Wanna be my best friend?
Are you interested in adopting this Artemis or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.
Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org , faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center or Timber Drive next to Home Depot).
We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application.
Thanks for thinking adoption!

CATS and KITTENS: Our adoptable cats & kittens are at the Luv-A-Pet Centers at PetSmart, White Oak in Garner and in PetSmart Goldsboro).
Cats can be seen during regular store hours by asking a manager or by appointment with JCAPL. On Saturdays between 10am and 2pm, JCAPL volunteers bring additional cats and kittens to the Luv-A-Pet Center at the Garner location.
We do rotate our cats and kittens regularly so if you see a cat or kitten online, but do not see them at Petsmart, they are most likely taking a break at their foster home. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions about the adoption status of a specific cat or kitten.
DOGS and PUPPIES can be seen at the PetSmart at White Oak Shopping Center from 11:00 am until 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays, or by appointment with individual foster homes.

More about this rescue
We are the Johnston County Animal Protection League (JCAPL). We are a 501 (c)(3) non profit, founded in 2001.
Our primary function and purpose is animal advocacy and to promote animal welfare, in all its aspects.
We do rescue and adoptions, outreach (providing low cost spay/neuter); and education.
We are unpaid volunteers, but we continue to try and fill the void wherever we see the need, and we do it because the need is great and the animals are innocent in all the crimes and abuses against them.
