My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Candace and I think I`m too good to be outgoing all of the time. I mean, really, are you best friends with everyone you meet the first time? Do you want complete strangers coming up and touching you and hugging you all the time? No, of course not. I don`t want that either. I want a nice slow, pet `courtship.` You will give me wet food and treats to earn my love and trust. Toy mice and plastic ball toys make me swoon.

I do like the company of other cats but I`m fine alone too. I don`t mind dogs or kids as long as they aren`t constantly loud and annoying. I`ve been called a queen, a diva, and other such words but I own it. You look at me and talk to me before touching me. I`m not mean or nasty about my preferences but I`m not about to stick around if you`re going to be all up in my face and business constantly. Once I`ve decided you will be an adequate servant for me, I`ll give you all the attention you need and want (and more).

I play. I cuddle. I give kitty kisses. Just not to new people who are weird. I`m weird but I expect you to be normal and respectful.

Our shelter facility opened it's doors August 4th, 2011.

Our mission is to prevent suffering, neglect, abuse and cruelty to animals through community awareness and education, promoting responsible pet ownership and ending the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals in Pawnee County, Kansas. Since 2005, we have helped over 2,000 lost, stray, dumped, or relinquished animals to find loving homes.
