My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BK came into the rescue as a stray. He was found at Burger King, charming his way into getting meals from the drive-thru. While he does experience some anxiety, he expresses it with his unique type of whine. BK loves spending time in the yard, enjoying the company of his people.

Because of this, he needs a country home with plenty of room to run, preferably in a fenced area—no apartments or city living for him. He gets along well with other dogs and seems to be fine around cats, based on our observations at the rescue. He appears to be housebroken and does reasonably well on a leash.

BK can be a bit stubborn at times, especially when he's not quite ready to come inside, which can turn into a playful game of "catch-me-if-you-can." However, he eventually lets you win. If you’re interested in meeting Mr. BK, please fill out an application online.

More about this rescue

We are dog and cat lovers who want to help decrease the number of healthy pets being euthanized. We do this through adopting pets to caring homes and by spaying and neutering every pet before it is adopted out. We operate a Thrift store named Critters, which is volunteer run with all money brought goes to support our "No Kill" rescue. Critters is located on the same property as our shelter. We take in homeless animals because they are in need and are unable to help themselves.
