My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Flops, a calm and gentle dog who is currently waiting for his forever home at the shelter. With his soft, relaxed demeanor, he has quickly become a favorite among the staff. Flops is the kind of dog who will greet you with a wagging tail and a peaceful presence, always eager to share his affectionate nature. He’s not the type to demand attention but rather enjoys spending time in the company of others, making him an ideal companion for families or individuals looking for a laid-back friend.Flops loves spending time outdoors, and there`s nothing he enjoys more than a peaceful stroll or a bit of playtime in the yard. His curiosity about the world is matched by his relaxed attitude, making outdoor activities a joy for him. Whether it`s chasing a ball or simply lounging in the sun, Flops is content as long as he`s surrounded by the fresh air and the people he cares about. His easygoing nature makes him the perfect dog for those who want a companion to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.Flops gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would fit in well in a multi-pet household. He would also do well around children, as he is patient and kind. Flops is the type of dog who thrives in an environment where he can share his love and receive it in return. If you’re looking for a sweet, mellow dog to join your family, Flops could be the perfect fit.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting an animal: 1) Write down the Animal ID # . 2) Make sure to mention Animal ID # when visiting or calling. 3) Remember all adoptions stop 30 minutes prior to closing time. 3) You will not be allowed to place a hold on the animal. 4) It cannot be shipped to you. 5) Before adopting it, you can spend time with the animal outside or in a "meet and greet" room. Please ask for assistance. 6) We take cash, checks, debit cards, VISA and Mastercard as a method of payment. **IMPORTANT: Huntsville Animal Services cannot guarantee that any animal will still be available for adoption as we do not hold animals for anyone under any circumstances. Animals are adopted on a first come, first serve basis. You may want to call and ask if one is still available prior to visiting the shelter. When you adopt a pet, it will stay at the shelter and be taken to the veterinarian of your choice where it will be spayed or neutered before going to its new home. If it is already spayed or neutered, it can go home with you upon adoption. My adoption cost is very affordable and includes my adoption fee, spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, license (if you live within Huntsville city limits), and microchip.
ADOPTION FEES
Cats seven months and older are currently $35 that includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, city license tag if applicable, feline AIDS/LEUKEMIA test, and may also include other basic vaccinations when applicable. Kittens six months and younger are $50.

Dogs seven months and older are currently $35 and includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, city license tag if applicable, canine heart worm test over six months of age, and may also include other basic vaccinations when applicable. Puppie six months and younger are $50. Prices are subject to change.

LICENSE FEES
$35 - Lifetime license not included in the adoption fee

Fees change if the animal comes into the shelter with proof of current rabies vaccination, current city license, and/or proof of spay/neuter. If the animal has been spayed or neutered there is no spay/neuter fee.
Adopting parties must have proof of identification. They must be 19 years of age or older. They must not be intoxicated. The adoption process takes approximately 30 minutes for the paperwork. Please allow ample time to look for the pet of your dreams, visit with it, and do all appropriate paperwork. We do not suggest adoptions for a gift. If you desire to give the gift of a new pet, bring that person with you and allow them to pick out their new family member.
