My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gracie is 6 year old silver staffy pittie who is a solid 87 lbs. No worries, she walks fine on a leash and is a real homebody who loves to cuddle. She prefers to go on walks when it is nice and quiet outside and will walk by your side.. Our girl loves toys, especially her tennis balls and frisbee. She loves her tennis ball and loves to keep the ball in her mouth even after play. Gracie is a sweet girl who loves to cuddle, give sweet kisses, has the best pittie smile, and is always happy to greet you when you get home. She loves the comfort of home; she can be uneasy in environments she is not familiar with. She has a fair amount of energy, so having a fenced in backyard would be best. She plays hard and rests hard. She has some anxiety around other animals, so Gracie needs to be in a home where she is the only animal. She seems ok around quiet, respectful kids but if they are loud she retreats to her quiet place. Smart Gracie is doggie door trained so no potty issues at her foster's home!

Gracie is used to being in a home. Her ideal new home would be quiet with a fenced in yard , without a lot of traffic, and no other pets. A devoted family who will love and cudde her is essential. Older repectful quieter kds would be ok. If you are intrigued. apply for Gracie at www.caninecollective.org.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
