Defy Gravity with Elphaba!

Elphaba is a female black and white kitten rescued along with her littermates in November, after being spotted in a neighbor's backyard. (Mom was spayed and released back to the community she loves and knows.)

She has received initial vet care, including starting her FVRCP vaccination series. She is scheduled for spay, microchip and rabies the last week of December.

Elphaba is misunderstood as her character implies. Still a bit of a loner, she has a soft side that is waiting to come out. We are working closely with her in foster care on her socialization, and know with a little patience and a lot of love, she will be an adorable, friendly and playful kitten. She is food motivated, and loves when her hoomans give her lick treats!

She is in a foster home with Glinda and Fiyero, and we will prioritize any apps that seek to adopt a pair (or better yet, all three!) She is required to go to a home where another pet is present, with priority given to cat owners.

Elphaba's adoption fee is $200. She is eligible for our Adopt Later plan.

The pair adoption fee rate is $325.

After completing an application, a Windsor Kittens volunteer will reach out to you to talk to you about next steps including opportunities to meet the cat(s) if you haven't already done so.

Playdates will only be scheduled for approved applicants to protect the safety of our cats and foster families. Adoptions are matched based on best fit, not who applied for a particular cat first. Adoptions are not considered finalized until an adoption contract has been completed and the adoption fee has been paid to Windsor Kittens.

Windsor Kittens is a foster-based rescue dedicated to reducing the number of community cats in and around the Greater Charlotte, N.C. region by providing cats with essential care to live happier, healthier lives through Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) and Adoption programs. Officially incorporated in September of 2023, Windsor Kittens first operated as a grassroots organization.

We exist to reduce the burden of care in marginalized communities, as all cats trapped by Windsor Kittens come from underserved, under-resourced, and neglected neighborhoods in and around Charlotte.
