Meet Gunner, a puppy with a heart full of love and joy. He's an intelligent baby who's just as sweet as honey.
Gunner's spirited demeanor hides a playful and goofy side that emerges during playtime, filling the room with laughter. Gentle as a breeze, he's a master of snuggles, and wants nothing more than to be with his person(s) and part of the action going on.
If you are looking for a velcro dog, minus the separation anxiety, Gunner is you guy! Working, cooking, cleaning, walking around outside? He's there. And boy, does he keep his eye on everything! Very curious. It is so endearing.
Gunner loves playing with other dogs. He takes cues from the bigger dogs; maybe not so much with the little puff ball in the house!!! Gunner is curious of cats, however, does respect a good swipe when he gets a bit to nosy! This adorable pup is crate trained and progressing well with housetraining. Sleeps quietly through the night like a little gem! He walks nicely on the leash for a little guy:) But does still need some work with it. Gunner loves everyone he meets, young or old. SWEET is his middle name:)
Despite his past, where he was abandoned, beaten up and starving, Gunner found is way to his rescuer and never looked back. He found a place where he got the wound care he needed, steady meals, and a warm place to cuddle. Gunner wants nothing more of that past life, only the love and joy a forever home in New England can provide his on his list this Christmas season.....with lots of toys, cushy dog beds and a family of his own to LOVE him forever.
With his sweet nature and playful spirit, Gunner is ready to bring warmth, laughter, and love into his forever home.

More about this rescue
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
