My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jasper Blue is being fostered in the St Louis MO area.

Hello potential Adopters! Introducing Jasper our "gem of various colors" (one translation of his name)! Jasper also symbolizes abundance and riches. How much richer could your life be with this handsome boy?  Jasper is a mini blue merle male with a bobtail and two blue eyes! He is as sweet as pie and weighs about 30 lbs. His date of birth is 12/25/2020 - a Christmas gem waiting to celebrate his 4th birthday with you!

Jasper was an outside dog prior to coming into foster, but he quickly adjusted to home life. It took him several weeks to adjust, but he is now confident and settled in nicely. Jasper lives with 2 other dogs and does well. He does draw guidance and companionship from one of them, so a home with a confident dog could help him adjust to his new home quicker. He is also a Velcro dog with his foster human, so being an only dog could work if his new family is patient and gives him time to adapt. He would make an excellent sidekick for someone! Due to his size and initial shyness he would like a home with adults or older children.

We don't know how he is with cats as he's had no interaction with them in his foster home. Jasper is house and crate trained. He has great leash manners. His activity level is moderate. He does not like rain or snow! Car rides and loud noises can be stressful, but he's getting better. He can be unsure with visitors or outings in busy places but warms up quickly with food rewards. With high food rewards and support from his foster he is getting more confident and comfortable with new things. He would love someone who is willing to continue helping him be his best self. Don't forget the food rewards!

Jasper loves walks, playtime, training, hanging with his family, and snuggles! He would love a family that continues his progress but will also just accept and love him for him!  Do you think our precious Jasper can enrichen your home and be your forever companion? Are you ready to show him how great life can be? Just click Adopt under his picture and fill out the application. We can't wait to tell you more about him and set up a meet and greet!

Jasper is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, negative for all tick borne diseases and on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.

NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

Additional adoption info

Meeting any dog within MASR requires an approved adoption application on file. We process as quickly as possible via volunteers. Then connect an applicant one at a time with a dog and foster home to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties at the meet and greet, including the dog, are in agreement that it is a good fit, the dog goes home that day.
