My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate Date of Birth:1/15/2019

Description:

Hera is a sweet girl who is learning to trust again and show everyone her playful personality! She seeks out other easygoing cats for company, but is still a bit wary of us humans. She does like chin scratches and Churu treats if she is approached slowly. If she's "not feelin' it" - she will gallop across the room with her tail held high. She has made much progress in the time she's been with her foster family, we know her special person/people will see her continue to blossom!

Words to Describe Me: Shy, quiet, social with felines

Favorite Place to Sleep: Top of the cat tree, or with my bud, on sofa

Favorite Toy: I watch the wand toys

Perfect Day: Breakfast, nap with my buds, lunch, nap in a different spot with my buds, dinner, pick a new nap spot with the buds!

Kitty's Likes: Lickable treats from fingers, chin scratches

Kitty's Dislikes: Be in a loud, unpredictable environment

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Gentle chin or ear scratches

Favorite Treat: Lickable treat on fingertips...Churu

Job Title in Foster: Miss Shy Congeniality

When I Grow Up, I Want to Be: One of the gang, joining them in their daily routine

Additional adoption info

We will adopt to out of state adopters but we do NOT ship animals under any conditions. You must come to us in person to meet the animal and make sure it is a mutual match. We have had many adopters come from the states around us and drive or fly with their new family member back.

Go meet their pets

Some of our "ready to adopt" felines are located at one of our Arizona PetSmart locations. https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations/

We also have a small satellite operation in San Diego with adoption events on select Saturdays at the PetSmart Escondido store.

We highly recommend applying in advance in order to increase your opportunity at adopting the kitty you are interested in. Applications are processed in the order they were received. If you have questions, please email adoptions@savingonelife.org.

More about this rescue

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, never kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidentally got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them at intake@savingonelife.org. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv (Cats), dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fees range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely never kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care.
