My name is Kimchi and I’m looking for my forever home. I’m 14 y.o. and weigh 22 lbs. Yep. You read that right. I’m 14. I’m a bit creaky and hard-of-hearing and I don’t see as well as I used to (cataracts), but I’m a happy, laid-back boy who still loves life! I love being outside in the fenced yard at my foster home here in Des Plaines, IL. Outside is where my inner puppy shines! I will trot around tossing my head in the air. I love to explore! When we’re inside, I am a quiet guy - happy to snuggle on the couch. I’m a gentleman and usually wait to be invited to hop up. I like being close to my humans and will follow you around the house. I might get a little restless if there isn’t a comfy dog bed for me to lounge in and watch you do whatever it is you’re doing. And maybe I’ll get a pet or a treat? That is always nice. I really like human kids, so if my forever home had one or two, I’ll be a good friend to them. I am gentle and patient. I am good with other dogs and would really love to have another low-key dog at home to keep me company. I pretty much ignore cats and other pets - live and let live, I say! I’m content to hang out in my crate from time to time, but I don’t like being confined very much. I am not destructive when left to roam on my own. Despite my – ahem – maturity, I’m in pretty good shape! I had a bad UTI when I first came into foster care that was causing me to have potty accidents, but once that cleared up, I’ve been just fine. So, if you’re looking for a calm, quiet, sweet boy to keep you company, Kimchi is your man! I’d really love a forever home where I have a soft bed and a nice yard and some friends to spend my senior days with.
