It`s Leela! The goofiest, sweetest girl you`ll ever meet! This adorable bundle of joy is always ready to bring a smile to your face with her playful antics and loving nature. Leela has a heart as big as her personality, and she`s guaranteed to make your days brighter with her infectious energy!
Note from volunteer who took Leela for a field trip:
She was shy and hesitant at first and then very sweet and playful once she is comfortable. Leela did well in the car. She was a bit nervous, but did like having someone ride with her in the back seat. This girl loved playing fetch in the backyard! She also loves snuggles and is super loving when settled in.
~ Leela is looking for an active family that will provide lots of activity, exercise, enrichment and training daily to set her up for success. ~ This sweet girl is looking for an adult only home or a home with adults and older children due to her nervousness, resource guarding and need for learning some manners. ~ Her new family will need to be prepared to take things slowly, building up her confidence and letting her know the world is not such a scary place. ~ Leela will need to be signed up for at least three in-person training sessions before she can go to her new home. She needs to work on her manners, basic training and socialization.
Regularly Exhibited Behaviours: - Resource Guarding - Mouthy - Nervous/Shy - Jumpy - High Energy - Under-Socialized
Explanation of behaviours: - Leela is under-socialized; her new family will need to slowly and positively work on socializing her to the world around her. - Leela is a young and high-energy dog that will need plenty of daily exercise, enrichment and training to set her up for success. - Leela has shown to have some possible resource guarding while in our care specifically with her food. - Leela can be shy/nervous of new people especially in new situations/environments. Her new family will need to work with her to slowly and properly help her feel more comfortable and confident with new things and introductions. - Once Leela is comfortable with somebody she is very friendly and outgoing, she becomes very jumpy and mouthy during play and when excited.
This dog would benefit from: - An active home - A home of all adults or adults and older children - Lots of training and socialization - Lots of time and attention

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
