My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I`m Siakam. I am a sweet boy who is ready to find his fur-ever home! I am a big boy with a big heart. I`m just a shy guy who would benefit from a family that will help me build my confidence. Once I warm up, I will paw-sitively give you my whole heart! I love playing with my humans. It`s my favorite thing ever! I would benefit from a home with adults only. It`s been reported that I did well with cats. If I go home with any other doggie, I would like to have a calm, gentle friend.
Adopters should know that I have hip dysplasia so I must maintain a healthy weight and exercise regularly through walks to keep the muscle mass in my legs. This will help my skeleton retain the strength to support my hips well. Sometimes additional medical care such as joint supplements and anti-inflammatory medications can be used to control/slow the progression of arthritis.
I should also be examined yearly by a family veterinarian to have an orthopedic examination and radiographs (x-rays) may be recommended to evaluate the progression of the disease and pain in my joints. Ask an adoption counselor for more information.

Go meet their pets

You can find up-to-date information on all of our available pets by visiting IndyHumane.org/Cats or IndyHumane.org/Dogs. Adopt-a-Pet is a third party site and not a source of reliable, updated information.

Our website is updated throughout each day, so if you see a pet on there that you are interested in, as long as their photo is on the website it means they are still available. Each profile will have a link for their online application. Please fill out an application for the pet you'd like to meet and a member of our team will contact you within 24-48 hours for more info and to schedule an intro. Thanks!
