My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, there! I’m Tucker. I was saved by my foster mom from being euthanized at the local high-kill shelter just because I was afraid of all the loud noises that came with being kenneled there. I am about 2 years old and roughly 19 pounds. My foster family thinks I must have some Chihuahua in me because I am a small guy with a very big personality. I love to play with all my doggie foster siblings and get along with their dogs of all sizes. I am crate-trained, potty-trained, and LOVE to go on walks and play with my ball. My favorite dessert is something called a puppiccino and I love to give hugs and cuddles with the people I am closest to. A fun fact about me is that I am bilingual. My foster parents speak to me in both Spanish and English and they tell me I am a very smart boy for picking up commands in both languages.

I do have a few other things you should know about me. For example, I don’t like when people make fast, unexpected movements around me, so I do prefer if you let me come up to you first. Small children can make me nervous, so I would do better in a home with older kids.

If I sound like a dog you could provide an amazing home to, then please don’t hesitate to follow the link to my adoption application and ask to set up a meet and greet with me! My foster family is amazing, but what I’d really love is for a home of my very own who will continue to spoil me like the little prince I am. See you soon! Love, Tucker.

Additional adoption info

A home check may be performed when taking the pet home. This is up to the discretion of the rescue founder and may be performed upon her decision. This step will ensure our animals are going into the best possible homes and will never be treated as less than a best friend and companion ever again. We are dedicated to the best possible fit for each animal that comes into our care.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We are 100% foster and volunteer run. Therefore, the first step in meeting one of our adoptable pets will be to submit an adoption application by following the link posted above to either our website or directly to our adoption application. Once an adoption application has been approved, we can set up a meet and greet with the applicant and the animal the applicant is interested in. Please allow 24-72 business hours to receive an answer back about your application, as all of our volunteers and fosters have additional jobs outside of the rescue and use their spare time to provide care to these animals in our program.

Adoption events can also be found posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages located under the name "Happy Tails Canine Rescue". These events are open to the public and do not require an adoption application in advance to meet any of our pets that will be attending.
