Meet Kai! This sweet 9-year-old boy is ready to find his forever home. At a perfect 30 pounds, hes the ideal size for anyone looking for a companion whos not too big, not too small. Kai was surrendered when his mom moved into assisted living and couldnt take him along, but now hes hoping to find a new family who will love him like he deserves.

Kai is extremely loyal and forms strong bonds with his people. His happy, affectionate personality shines when hes with those he trusts. He loves carrying his toys around and proudly showing them off, and when its time to play, his zoomies will definitely bring a smile to your face! Kai takes treats very gently, always polite and appreciative.

Hes house-trained and easygoing, but he would do best in a home without children, as they tend to make him nervous. Kai can live with another dog as long as they respect his space and understand he enjoys having some room to himself. Hes more of a laid-back, independent guy, so a calm, low-pressure environment with an adult-only household would be ideal.

The pet placement team will review your application. If the dog you inquired about could be a match for you, we'll arrange a meet and greet.

Home Check

We would bring the dog to your home and conduct a home visit.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process encompasses several steps in an attempt to ensure the best possible placement of an animal with the most appropriate home. In addition to an application and time spent with the dog of interest, a home visit with the candidate is also a step in the adoption. We do charge an adoption fee as well as require the execution of an adoption agreement.

We welcome all inquiries, so feel free to contact us via mail, phone, or email. Our dogs are housed in a kennel a few miles south of Dillsburg, PA. We participate in many local adoption fundraisers and events.

Canine Rescue of Central PA, Inc. is a nonprofit 501c(3), all-volunteer organization dedicated to providing assistance to any dog in a helpless situation. While a young organization, we have made tremendous progress in establishing another valuable resource for our furry friends. It is our mission to get involved in as many situations as possible to provide sanctuary, shelter, and homes to as many dogs as we can. We also are very focused on creating strategic partnerships with other rescues and similar organizations in an attempt to share resources as well as expand public awareness of the overwhelming problem of homeless animals.
