My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there!! The name is SHADOE and yes, that is HOW it is spelled!! Its called the "new spelling" that is ALL THE RAGE with the youngsters :)
Let me tell you about ME! I am a boomer, so new spelling and new math are lost on me :) I just want to hang out on the "davenport" and get ALL the love you have!
I was found and saved by a nice Millennial, she has been taking such great care of me...so I don't give her a hard time about her "change making skills :)" This is what she has to say about me...

"Shadoe loves other dogs, definitely is a pack animal. Loves people. Is house broken and can be outside the crate without any problems. Loves the couch, food, treats, eats like a vacuum. Has an easy going temperament. Loves to cuddle and lick your face if you let him. Still has a lot of endurance and loves going on walks up to 2-3 miles. You can tell he was an outdoor dog before he was saved, because when I feed them he runs out the dog door and I have to remind him to eat inside :>(" Shadoe never complains about being an inside dog :D
As you can see, I am a great great older dog who wants someone's couch to hang on and like an semi-ACTIVE retiree, I will walk with you for a couple of miles too!! Just don't forget my head and wrist bands and leg warmers for our trips!! I also LOVE LOVE car rides!! I am an iDEAL driving buddy, just strap me and and I will read the map for you ;)

ADOPT ME!! I would LOVE a family for Christmas and the rest of my Christmases!!

Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required.

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..

If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

Go meet their pets

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.

Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.

We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.

We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
