Meet pretty lady, Azalea. When she looks up at you with those big, copper brown eyes your heart will melt! Azalea is an independent gal - happy to do her own thing and doesn’t need constant attention - while at the same time enjoys being in the presence of her foster people.
This playful, curious yet quiet girl loves prancing around the house, playing with toys and looking out the window. When Azalea isn’t exploring and playing, she enjoys pets and prefers that they are on her terms. She enjoys an afternoon nap in the sunlight or a warm chair snuggled up by the fireplace while her people go about their days. And often you can find her tucked up in the middle of all the kids stuffed animals - her all time favorite place to catch some sleep!
Azalea does very well with children of all ages and would do well in an active household or in a calmer environment that can provide playful interactions. She absolutely loves a good game of laser and will enthusiastically chase it until she simply can’t run anymore from exhaustion!
Azalea gets along splendidly with her mama and littermates, whom she’s been with since birth. Azalea and her sister, Bluebell , are bonded and the very best of buds. These sweet sisters rely on each other for companionship so they must be adopted together. Who can blame them?! Family is important!
Bluebell and Azalea are a bit timid in new environments at first so they may need a little extra time, patience and TLC as they adapt to their new home. They can be a little shy around new people (aren’t we all?!), but once comfortable, they are so loving and playful!
Azalea was an owner surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page.
If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
