Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
My name is Sarah Jessica Barker. I'm a 1 year old Australian Sheppard mix with the prettiest eyes. I'm a little bit of a nervous girl who takes her time when warming up to people, but once I'm there, boy am I love bug! Whoever ends up loving and adopting me should know that it will take a few meet and greets before I can go home. I'm not sure where my anxiety stems from, but when I get nervous, I like to hide in my crate, so it's important for me to have a safe space in my future home that I can retreat to. I like it when people take things really slow with me, go at my speed, and allow me to decide if I want to be touched or not.
I have so many sweet quirks - for example, my favourite staff member taught me a gesture that means it's time for pets! This gesture helps me decide if I want to be touched or if I'm not ready for it yet. I like being offered plenty of choices, which is important especially since I'm so anxious.
It's essential for me to go to a home with a dog-friendly dog to best help me transition into my new home. I love love love having a furry friend, you can see my silly and confident side come out the moment I hang out with a fellow canine!
I would do best in a home without children because little people scare me when they move too fast. I have some boundaries, especially with touch, and kids might not understand that when they're younger. I'm sure I'd get along with anyone who is a teenager and older as long as they understand my needs. It's important for my future adopters to be willing to be patient with me and who are willing to help me through my anxiety. I know you're out there and I can't wait to meet you!
