My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I'm Valero, a 6-month-old Retriever mix, with a bit of Labrador and Hound in me.

I'm super sweet and love being close to my people. If you give me a good head scratch, I'll press right into your side to soak it all in-I'm a big fan of affection! I absolutely love exploring, and for a puppy my age, I walk really well on a leash. I was calm and relaxed in the car too, which makes me a great travel buddy.

However, I've got a lot of puppy energy, so I might jump up when I get excited, but I'm just so happy to see you! With a little training, I know I'll learn to keep all four paws on the ground. I'm definitely food motivated, so if you've got tasty treats, I'll do my best to learn all sorts of new things. I promise, I'm not picky when it comes to food-if it's edible, I'm all about it!

I can be a bit selective when it comes to other dogs, so it would be best to have a meet and greet with any dogs already in your home before we make things official. That way, we can see if we're a good match and if we'll get along well together. Once I find the right doggy friend, I'm sure we'll be a great team!

I'm looking for a home where I can get plenty of love, playtime, and maybe some extra treats along the way. Could that be with you? Let's make some memories together!

Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email northaurora@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 80, and the staff will be happy to help you.

I hope to meet you soon!

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
