My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dutchess - Your Future Cuddle Buddy!

Looking for an incredibly sweet companion who will shower you with love? Dutchess is a 7-year-old, overweight 20-pound, long-haired Dachshund who is simply craving affection. This lovely lady is a breeder release dog, and now she's ready to find her forever home where she can get all the cuddles and attention she deserves.

Dutchess has a mellow and gentle personality, and while she can be a little timid at first, she quickly warms up, especially to women. Once she's comfortable, she'll be your loyal cuddle buddy, eagerly waiting for you to sit down so she can climb into your lap for some serious snuggling.

A Few Things to Know About Dutchess:

Personality: Dutchess is calm, sweet, and loving, but she may be a bit shy at first. She bonds closely with her humans and enjoys being close to them.

Training: She is kennel trained and is currently working on potty training and leash walking. She will need a home with a fenced-in yard, as she doesn't like using a tie-out for potty breaks.

Health Needs: Dutchess is currently overweight and will need a weight management plan to help her regain her ideal size. Due to her extra weight, she moves a bit slower but loves her leisurely strolls. A balanced diet and a gentle exercise routine will help her feel her best.

Good with Other Dogs: Dutchess gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company. It is unknown how she would interact with cats or small children.

Dutchess is looking for a loving, patient family who can help her continue to thrive and help her shed those extra pounds. If you're ready to offer this sweet girl a forever home, she'll be forever grateful for the love and care you give her. Could Dutchess be the cuddle buddy you've been searching for?

More about this rescue

Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.

Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.

Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
