This helps ShepHeroes with pet care costs.
Welcome to ShepHeroes, Amelia.
Amelia is a 3.5- to 4-month-old black and tan shepherd puppy, littermate to Otte. Both pups found themselves at their community shelter, and thanks to volunteers who advocate for this rural shelter and transport volunteers, they arrived in our care Thanksgiving weekend.
A petite girl with lots of charm and curiosity, Amelia had a great vet visit after arriving in her foster home. She caught up on her vaccines, and before heading to the vet, she learned all about outings in a puppy backpack.
Amelia, who has earned the nickname Millie, lives with an adult male shepherd in her foster home. With her family working from home, she's getting lots of playtime and structure as she integrates into her foster home. Millie thrives with the companionship of her playmate, and her experienced fosters are showing her the ropes of potty and crate training and good household manners while giving her lots of love.
Millie is a very energetic little girl; if she's not running, she's bouncing like a rabbit. She loves to hang out with the resident shepherd and, when possible, steal his favorite toy for a few nibbles of her own. She's started expanding her play to all sorts of toys, and her favorite so far is an octopus almost as big as she is.
We love watching our foster pups blossom, and Amilia, aka Millie, shows us she's adorable with radar ears and is ready for harvest sitting in a pot. Lol.
Amelia's littermate, Otte, is in his own shepherd-experienced foster home, living with a senior shepherd, and we're also learning more about him.
We ask adopters interested in Amelia to have experience with shepherds or similar herding or working breeds and the time and resources to commit to lots of love, structure, environmental exposure, and training.
As a foster-based rescue, ShepHeroes is always in need of fosters. An overwhelming number of shepherds in our local shelters need our help for a fresh start. Would you be willing to share your home and part of your summer to help shepherds find new families? You provide the love, and we'll provide everything else! Saying "yes" today truly saves a life. Complete this https://www.shepheroes.org/foster-form, and we'll be in touch ASAP! We appreciate your consideration.
