My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Apollo! This Pomeranian-Husky blend is 2 years old and weighs 13 lbs. Apollo is on a mission to find a forever family who will love him to the moon and back.

  • General Behavior: Much like an astronaut on a space mission, Apollo is adventurous and clever. He is also affectionate and friendly and will greet you with lots of tail wags and wiggles when you come home. This gentle, goofy guy is fine being independent and doing his own thing, but he can also be kissy and cuddly when it is time for snuggles.

  • Likes & Dislikes: Apollo is an active guy who loves toys: the more, the merrier!

  • Training: Apollo is a smart cookie with good basic manners. He is housetrained if let out regularly, he loves going on car rides, he walks well on a leash, and generally has good basic manners. He is also very food-motivated, which should help with more advanced training.

  • Medical: Apollo takes daily probiotics, which cost about $10 per month.

  • Other Animals: Apollo is good with other dogs of all sizes. He is even good with cats!

  • Children: So far, Apollo has only been observed around 8-year-old children, but his foster thinks this gentle, friendly guy would get along with children of all ages.

  • Home: Apollo would do well in an apartment, condo, or single-family home.

  • Grooming: Apollo will require regular grooming. He does shed, but luckily he loves having his coat brushed regularly at home, too!

  • Overall: Apollo will make a wonderful companion for an active family who can love him forever.

Adopting Apollo could be one small step for man, but one giant leap for his and your happiness.  Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered, and he has just had his teeth cleaned. His adoption donation is $550.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
