Meet the Pet
This helps Poodle and Pooch Rescue with pet care costs.
Hello . . . My name is Ripley! I am a playful, small terrier blended boy that is 4-years-young, and I weigh just 10 lbs. I am a confident fella and have adjusted quite well to new environments. Believe it or not, I have been told that I resemble Bambi, have soulful eyes, look quite handsome when wearing my sweater, have the cutest ears and both "reindeer legs" and a little “reindeer nose”. I am currently looking for a cat-free home to call my own. I hope you enjoy reading more about me!
General Behavior: Ripley is a clever boy, who is gentle and snuggly. He is a happy, high-energy boy who loves to give kisses.
Likes & Dislikes: Ripley would rate TOYS at the top of his list of things he loves. In fact, “destuffing” them is one of his favorite things to do. He also really likes to sleep elevated, so when his foster was not home, he would snuggle in on the couch or a chair so he could see what was going on around him. He is also a fan of car rides!
Training: Ripley does great with house training if let out on a regular, consistent schedule. He has good basic manners and walks pretty well on a leash. Ripley is food-motivated which should lend itself nicely to additional training.
Medical: Ripley is a healthy pup and will just require his monthly heartworm and flea prevention, like any other dog.
Other Animals: Ripley has experience with small dogs and would do ok with another small furry friend but could also do well as an only dog. His current foster home has five other small dogs, and Ripley has shown great manners towards his foster brothers and sisters. Cats are an absolute NO for Ripley. While he shows no real signs of aggression towards people and smaller dogs, he is not good with cats or other small animals (so no chickens, rabbits or other “small pets”).
Children: Ripley would be suited for a home with children of any age, as long as they are respectful of his size. Small children should always be supervised by the “grown up” in the home. He loves to snuggle with the 10-year-old boy in his foster home.
Home: Ripley should do well in an apartment, condo or home, but he should be in a home where he can be walked at least once a day, even if he has a fenced yard to play in. He can be left alone for several hours without issue, although his preference would be to have someone that is home more often than not. Ripley has free reign at his foster home and enjoys sleeping in the “people bed” at night.
Grooming: Ripley is minimal maintenance and just requires nail trims and bathing.
Overall: If you are looking for a small, energetic dog who is sure to offer you lots of love and cuddles, Ripley could be the one for you. All he asks for in return is love, commitment and patience as he adjusts to a new home.
Are you the one for Ripley? Please visit our website, www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with his foster family if it’s a potential match. Ripley is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and recently had a dental cleaning. His adoption donation is $350.
