My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LUNA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:  Luna            Best Guess for Breed:   German shepherd mix

Best Guess for Age:    5 months as of December            SEX:   female

Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  20lbs

Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.

Currently Living at:   Shelter

Special Adoption Considerations:       Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.

Luna is Looking For:  Luna is one of three siblings with Lucky Dog who were pulled from a shelter after being surrendered by backyard breeders. She is looking for all the things puppies love - play time and snuggles and more play time! Making pup and people pals is high on her wish list but right at the top is having her own humans and knowing she's safe and loved for all her days. She will be a great addition to an active household, right there for all the adventures her humans dream up. What do you say? Is Luna the one you see trotting by your side as you take on one of the many great hiking trails in this area?

Shelter Notes: Luna is definitely the most wiggly of her group! Luna investigated every inch of the Pup Room! She has the strongest nose of the 3 and found tiny treats I hid in the room. Maybe she wants to be a scentwork dog? She is easy to entertain. Luna met a perfect stranger today - a tall young man. Luna was friendly and outgoing with him. She jumped up to greet him but she calmed down quickly when he squatted down to pet her.

What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon!

Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.

Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!

TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting, spay/neuter, and transport from the shelter.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
