LUKE SKYWALKER NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Luke Skywalker Best Guess for Breed: German shepherd mix
Best Guess for Age: 5 months as of December SEX: female
Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 19lbs
Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.
Currently Living at: Shelter
Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.
Luke Skywalker is Looking For: Luke Skywalker is one of three siblings with Lucky Dog who were pulled from a shelter after being surrendered by backyard breeders. He is looking for all the things puppies love - play time and snuggles and more play time! Making pup and people pals is high on his wish list but right at the top is having his own humans and knowing he's safe and loved for all his days. He will be a great addition to an active household, right there for all the adventures his humans dream up. What do you say? Is Luke the one you see trotting by your side as you take on one of the many great hiking trails in this area?
Shelter Notes: He may be the most confident of the trio. He came over to the Pup Room for the first time Sunday and explored a little more freely than his sisters did. Luke may also be the easiest to train. This handsome fella is all ears, friendly, treat motivated and showed confidence despite the Pup Room being a new experience for him. He also seemed to grasp 'SIT' quickly. We only worked on it for a few minutes but I could see it click when he realized sitting resulted in the 'payment' of treats. Luke showed some interest in toys but he was more motivated by treats and praise. With Luke's drive to learn, he would be a fun puppy class partner. You will make each other look good!
What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon!
Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.
Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting, spay/neuter, and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
