My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Wolfie was brought in by his previous owner on December 3, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Wolfie, the blue-eyed adventurer who's equal parts charm and energy! As a working breed, Wolfie thrives on activity and mental stimulation, so if you're looking for a couch potato, he's not your guy. But if hiking, exploring, and embarking on epic adventures are your jam, Rumple is ready to be your loyal sidekick. He's got the smarts and the stamina to keep up with an active lifestyle-and might even outpace you! While Wolfie is all about action, he prefers a home without cats or other small animals as they're to fun to resist chasing! He can be a bit intrusive with other dogs, so make sure to bring any current canines to meet Wolfie before taking him home. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but don't let that fool you. A few tasty treats and some patience are all it takes to win him over, and soon you'll see his affectionate, playful personality shine through. Occasionally, he likes to speak his mind with a bark or two-think of it as his way of sharing his opinions on the day's events. Ready to add some excitement (and maybe a few conversations) to your life? Bring a leash and martingale collar (available on-site) and come meet Wolfie today. He's ready to trade his shy side for a wagging tail and a lifetime of adventures by your side!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
