Piper may look a little rough around the edges, but she is 100% precious and full of personality! She was found wandering the streets in Maryland, covered in fleas and scabs, with a crinkly scarred ear from prior infections, and not even spayed. The shelter got her all fixed up and sent her to Fancy Cats to help find her forever home.
Despite her rough past, Piper LOVES people and craves attention. She will follow you around chirping for attention, rubbing on your legs and turning her butt to you so you will scratch it. She even likes being picked up and held - anything to get your love. When she gets really excited, she even will start licking your hands and drooling. She is a big lap cat and will sit on you, kneading gently and purring, until your legs fall asleep. She would be a perfect work from home companion. She has shown some interest in toys, especially her catnip shrimp toy, but mostly just wants to be with people. She uses her scratching post well and is good for getting her nails trimmed. She does well with cat-friendly kids and cats, but dogs might be a bit much for her. Please contact us if you would like to meet this sweet girl!
Since being with Fancy Cats, we found out that unfortunately Piper has GI lymphoma which has been causing her to have chronic diarrhea. It seems that we caught it early, so she likely has 1-2 years left with us. She is on a special diet and daily medication, which she takes easily. We can provide more information about her condition and needs to anyone interested in her! We are looking for a 'permanent foster' where she would live out the rest of her days happy and loved. Fancy Cats would cover medical expenses, and the foster would cover food, litter, and other daily costs.
